Our Mission

At Insights Solutions Consulting, we believe insights rooted in values and intention can lead to transformation.

Real insight shifts how we think, act, lead, and relate. It reveals patterns, exposes blind spots, and, once uncovered, cannot be unseen. We exist to help leaders, teams, and organizations sit with the hard questions, discover what matters most, and move forward with clarity and purpose.

Our mission is to work with clients to make sense of complexity — to interrogate assumptions, co-create strategies, and develop solutions that are aligned, actionable, and enduring. Whether we’re facilitating a retreat, guiding a governance redesign, or coaching a new CEO, we bring a mix of inquiry, structure, and radical honesty to support meaningful change.

As an African American woman-owned consultancy, we ground our work in equity, integrity, and truth-telling. We work in service of leaders who are ready to lead with intention — and we hold ourselves to the same standard.

This is not about off-the-shelf answers. It’s about asking the right questions, making space for reflection, and staying in the work long enough to generate insight that sticks — and drives action.

Sit with it for a minute. Then let’s get to work, together.

Our Approach

We don’t start with the easy answer — we start with the right questions. We believe that meaningful solutions emerge when you begin with the end in mind: a clear picture of where you want to go, what needs to be true when you get there, and who must be part of the journey.

We work backward from that desired future state to identify milestones, strategies, and the conditions needed to bring it to life. Our work is guided by deep listening, strategic inquiry, and an unrelenting commitment to clarity, purpose, and equity. Whether we’re supporting strategic planning, leadership development, or governance transformation, our approach remains rooted in a few core practices.

We listen before we lead. Every engagement begins with active listening. Lisa brings decades of experience as a facilitator, advisor, and leader, but she never assumes — she asks. Through thoughtful questioning and a commitment to co-creation, we surface what’s said and what’s left unsaid to ensure the work ahead is grounded in truth, not assumptions.

We work backward from desired future state. Our approach starts with where you want to be — not where you’re stuck. By anchoring our strategy in the outcomes you seek, we reverse engineer the steps, people, and resources needed to make that vision real. This keeps the work focused, flexible, and purpose-aligned.

We make the complex doable. Most organizational challenges are complex — but complexity isn’t the enemy. With the right framing, facilitation, and leadership, complexity can be navigated and even embraced. We help our clients move through ambiguity with confidence, bringing structure to what feels messy and momentum to what feels stalled.

We honor the people doing the work. Change doesn’t happen in a vacuum. It happens through people. We create spaces where teams can reflect, disagree, learn, and move forward — together. We center the lived experience, insight, and leadership of those closest to the work, because the best solutions are built with, not for.

We tell the truth, kindly. We don’t traffic in jargon or performative solutions. We bring honesty, clarity, and accountability — always in service of your mission and values. Whether naming power dynamics, challenging the status quo, or helping you face hard truths, we do it with integrity, care, and deep respect.

Our goal is simple: to help you see clearly, act bravely, and move your organization forward with insight and intention.

Lisa R. Jackson, Ph.D.
Founder and CEO, Insights Solutions Consulting

Lisa Jackson brings more than 25 years of bold, hands-on experience in the social sector — and she’s done it from nearly every angle. She’s launched nonprofits, led transitions, evaluated impact, built and dismantled teams, chaired boards, raised funds, and shaped philanthropic strategy from inside grantmaking institutions. This breadth gives her a rare and nuanced perspective on what it really takes to lead with clarity, integrity, and results.

Lisa is best known as a dot-connector, simplifier, and truth-teller — someone who sees what others miss and helps leaders move forward with confidence. Her philosophy is simple but transformative: clarity is kindness. Whether working with C-suite leaders, board chairs, or new executive directors, she partners with clients to illuminate the path ahead, ask the hard questions, and co-create strategy that is as courageous as it is actionable.

As a strategic advisor, Lisa helps organizations align mission, vision, and operations to make better, faster, and more values-driven decisions. Her approach centers the agency and expertise of those closest to the work, and she brings a deep respect for the complexity leaders face — especially women and BIPOC leaders navigating systems not built with them in mind.

At the core of Lisa’s work is a belief in possibility. She sees her role not as the expert with the answers, but as a facilitator and guide — someone who helps organizations surface the wisdom they already hold, interrogate the assumptions that hold them back, and design the structures and strategies that move them forward.

Lisa is also the author of Sit with it for a Minute, a reflective blog where she explores topics like governance, leadership, power, and purpose with both insight and candor. Her writing has been featured in the Center for Effective Philanthropy and on Medium, including:
